"We demand that the inquiry into the JKCA scam should be handed over to CBI as the state government's inquiry is just an eye wash," BJP state unit chief Shamsher Singh Manhas told reporters here.
Alleging that the scam involved "very powerful persons" in the government, he said the inquiry should be immediately handed over to CBI.
He demanded that Union Minister Farooq Abdullah, who heads the JKCA, should step down to pave way for an impartial inquiry.
Main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) too has demanded a CBI probe into the alleged scam.
