"The BJP has demanded immediate implementation of the 73rd and 74th amendments of the Constitution that seek to empower Panchayats," party's chief spokesperson and National Executive member Jitendra Singh said.
Without the empowerment process, the Panchayats as well as urban local bodies would not be able to function in the desired manner, he said after a meeting of the state party's core group here.
He asked the state government to give an account of funds received from the Centre for Panchayats in the state.
