BJP today asked the Uttar Pradesh government to postpone preliminary examination of UP Subordinate Services Selection 2014 slated on August 3 till the time Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) system was not abolished.

"UP Public Service Commission should be directed to postpone preliminary examination of subordinate service selection. Till the time CSAT system is not abolished UPPSC should not organise any examination," BJP state president Laxmi Kant Bajpai requested in a letter sent to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

The state president has attracted attention of the Chief Minister towards letter written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by him in support of students protesting against CSAT, BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.

In his letter, Bajpai said CSAT system was also applicable in UPPSC therefore by the time it was not abolished at the central level, the Commission should not organise any examination.
