"The government should display computerised boards at every 'toll naka' (post) and inform road users about the total cost of the project and how much recovery is pending," Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and BJP member Eknath Khadse said while talking to reporters here.

The toll collection system needs more transparency and the Opposition was ready to give its inputs on the issue, the BJP leader said.

Khadse is here to take part in the two-day state executive meeting of BJP.

He alleged that the government had created 'toll mafia' by awarding road projects on build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis. He said his party had been demanding closure of 127 toll nakas in the state.

To a question, the BJP leader said his party does not believe in the policy of 'tod phod' (violence).

His statement came in the backdrop of MNS activists today staging protests at various toll booths in Thane against toll collection despite the end of recovery period.

The Leader of Opposition spoke on a range of issues during his interaction with the media. He said the Congress- NCP government has "failed" on all fronts.

"There is no co-ordination among the Ministers even as several districts in the state reel under drought," he said.

He claimed irrigation facilities were woefully inadequate despite the government spending Rs 70,000 crore on them over the years.

He said BJP workers would participate in large numbers in the nationwide 'jail bharo' agitation called by the party on June 22 to protest growing corruption and hike in prices of vital commodities and petroleum products.
