Telangana PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday alleged that the BJP was distorting facts about former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on the issue of accession of several princely states in India.

Speaking to party workers through a social media platform, Reddy said Nehru as the first PM and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as first Home Minister of the country worked together and played a crucial role in merging several princely states in India.

"Nehru and Patel together ensured that as many as 560 princely states merged into India.BJP is distorting facts by defaming Nehru and saying as if Patel did not belong to Congress.

Nehru was the first PM and Patel the first Home Minister. I request congress cadre to take the facts to the masses," Reddy said.

He alleged that BJP and TRS have tacit understanding.

He also demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged corruption in irrigation projects.
