Congress today attacked BJP for demanding resignation of the Prime Minister over the coalgate scandal, saying the party has failed to play the role of a responsible opposition.

'Every other day, they demand the resignation of someone or the other. They just misguide people, only carry out propaganda and do no work. They have failed to play the role of a responsible opposition,' senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury told reporters here.

Besides the Prime Minister, BJP was also demanding resignation of other leaders on various issues, including the recent blasts in Bodhgaya and other tragedies, she said.

Chowdhury was asked about the BJP's demand for the Prime Minister's resignation over the coalgate scam.
 

Asked about BJP statements that the Congress-led UPA government was afraid of convening the Parliament's Monsoon Session, she said, 'There is no word as fear in our vocabulary.
