BJP has always shown a firm determination to resolve the issues concerning the ethnic Tamils in Sri Lanka and those pertaining to fishermen from Tamil Nadu, party national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao today said.
In a statement, Rao, who is on a visit to Sri Lanka to participate in the 8th general assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Colombo said, India and the world is keenly watching the initiatives taken by the Government of Sri Lanka for solving the issues and expressed hope that it will fulfill its assurances including the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of Sri Lanka.
Rao, who is also the in-charge of the party affairs in Tamil Nadu, recalled the steps initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue, since coming to power at the Centre.

Though ICAPP general assembly ends on September 21, the release said BJP leaders would extend their visit to Sri Lanka by two more days to meet the leaders of various social and political organisations of Tamils there.
BJP leaders Muralidhar Rao and Vijay Jolly have held meetings with representatives of the Government of Sri Lanka, including Minister of External Affairs and Minister of Health, in the backdrop of the ongoing 8th General assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Colombo, the release said.
