"We would like to know why the Prime Minister, the Congress President and Rahul Gandhi do not answer one question and that is: why are they not able to control the price of LPG. It has been increased by Rs 26 today and people, especially in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh, are feeling harassed," BJP Chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Government today announced an increase of Rs 26 per non-subsidised LPG cylinder.

"The PM, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul make baseless charges against the Himachal Pradesh government but do not speak on price rise and scams. This is a big betrayal of the people of the state. The government should give clear answers to these questions," Prasad said.

He pointed out that soon after winning the 2009 elections, the UPA government had announced it will control price rise within 100 days. "Three years have passed since," Prasad said.

"This government does not speak on corruption either," Prasad said.

The BJP leader regretted that even in the first meeting of his Council of Ministers today, the Prime Minister blamed global recession for the problems plaguing the economy.

He maintained the PM should look at the "corruption" in National Highway Authority of India and in coal block allocations.
