A BJP functionary, his wife and son have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl of Khushhalpura village of Bah tehsil of the district and confining her in their house, police said.
According to a complaint lodged with the police by the parents of the girl, the girl went missing around midnight on Tuesday night from her home while she was sleeping near her mother.
An alarm was raised and a search was conducted by the relatives of the girl and other villagers, but she was not found.
It was feared that she might be in the house of a BJP functionary, who lived in the village along with his family.
Efforts to get the door of his house opened failed, upon which police was informed yesterday morning.
The police got the door opened and found the girl in a distraught condition under a bed in the house.
The functionary, his wife and son have been arrested and sent to jail while the girl has been sent for a medical examination, police said.
