Maharashtra Congress president Manikrao Thakre today said that BJP government in the state was unconstitutional as it had failed to prove its majority on the floor of the house.

He was here to attend a a meeting of Congress MLAs and office-bearers ahead of the winter session of state Assembly which will start here on December 8.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Thakre also said the government had failed to address the issues of farmers, particularly those struggling with the drought- like situation in most parts of state, and had not extended any financial assistance to them so far.

He criticised the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for not visiting Javkheda village in Ahmednagar district where three members of a Dalit family were brutally killed.

He demanded that government should pay Rs 50,000 each to the orchard-owners who had suffered losses.
