BJP govts committed to empowering women: Khanna

BJP national vice president Avinash Rai Khanna today said the Centre and the state government had made a lot of effort for women empowerment which Congress could not do in 50 years.

Addressing a state-level meeting of BJP Mahila Morcha here, Khanna cited including 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign to point to the commitment of governments led by his party.

He said cases of female foeticide had significantly reduced under the BJP rule which whad peaked during the Congress regime.

Khanna said that stricter punishment provision for rape of girls below 12 years showed the strong will power of the government towards the protection, safety and honour of girls and women.

 

The party's state general secretary Chandrashekhar and other leaders also addressed the meeting.
