"The BJP government has not implemented 50 per cent of election promises made in 2007," Balnatah alleged.

The leader, who quit the party a few days back and is contesting election as a Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP) candidate from Kusumpti, accused the government of making false claims about fulfilling the poll promises and "betraying the people."

Citing an example, he said the party had promised to set up permanent bench of the State Administrative Tribunal at Dharamsala and Mandi but scrapped it altogether upon coming to power.

Similarly, the BJP had promised to construct working womens hostel in each district, but none was built, he claimed.

He also alleged that the party's promise to pensioners of all benefits on par with Punjab was not honoured and that of returning shamlat land to villagers was not done, instead over one lakh bigha of land was allowed to be sold to outsiders.
