Members of BJP's Hazaribagh district committee today submitted their resignation with the party's Jharkhand unit chief in protest over the saffron outfit's move to let ally AJSU field nominees for the Barkagaon and Ramgarh Assembly seats in the upcoming polls.
"The decision was taken at the executive committee meeting of the Hazaribagh BJP unit," district BJP chief Tunu Gope told reporters here.
"The decision by the BJP high command to ally with AJSU has hurt the sentiments of party workers who have worked hard in these constituencies," he said.

"We have submitted our resignation to the party's state president Ravindra Rai.
"We will change our decision if we are allowed to contest the Barkagaon seat," Gope said.
After striking an alliance with BJP a few days back, AJSU had fielded Roshanlal Choudhury, brother of party leader and former minister Chandraprakash Choudhury, from Barkagaon.
Chandraprakash himself is contesting from the Ramgarh seat.
Meanwhile, a group of BJP workers protested at the party's headquarters in Ranchi against the tie-up with AJSU, a senior party leader said.
