Punjab BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia today accused Congress of concealing the truth behind the "mysterious" death of Jan Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
"People of this country have sacrificed a lot for the nation, but Congress does not accept the sacrifices they made," Kalia said while paying floral tributes at Mookerjee's statue here on his birth anniversary today.
"Prasad died for the country, nobody recognized his sacrifice. People were not told the truth about his death", he said.
Kalia blamed Congress for the "mysterious death of the founder of Jan Sangh".
He said that the ideals and thoughts of stalwart Mookerjee have always been inspirational.
Mookerjee was arrested and died in detention on June 23, 1953 for violating Article 370, which disallowed those from the rest of India to enter Jammu and Kashmir without a permit.
