The BJP today hailed one year of completion of government led by it in Manipur with Chief Minister N Biren Singh saying many more works need to be done to bring all round development in the state.

On March 15, 2017, N Biren Singh was sworn in as chief minister of the first BJP-led government in the North-Eastern state of Manipur.

The CM expressed happiness over completion of one year of his government but reminded that there are other challenges to be faced and more works to be carried out to bring all round development.

Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modis promise to end all bandh and blockades during a pre-election rally at Langjing ground last year, Biren said vision of the legendary leader has materialized and the wisdom of Modi and party president Amit Shah has enabled the party to achieve remarkable success in the region.

The Manipur CM showed gratitude to Modi for taking his time out and visit the state tomorrow to inaugurate the 105th Indian Science Congress and many other projects at different parts of the state.

"To live together and prosper" is the message of the Prime Minister for which the state government is committed to achieve it with the assistance of all the people in the state irrespective of ethnicity, caste and religion, Biren said.

BJP Manipur President and Rajya Sabha member Kshetrimayum Bhabananda Singh hailed completion of one year of the government in the state and remarked the greatest achievement of the BJP-led ministry was bridging the gap between the hills and valley of the state.

He praised Chief Minister N Biren Singh as the "best in the states political history", and terming his popular slogan Go to the Hills as tremendous initiation towards bringing development in the state.

Bhabananda addressed gathering at the Nityaipat head office of BJP here to mark the occasion.

On the recent triumph of BJP in Tripura, the Manipur CM said he was shocked to see the plight faced by the people of that state during his visit there and remarked that the people there had been brutally suppressed by the Leftist.

However, "BJP rescued the people and gave the Tripuris their rights" said the first BJP chief minister of the state.
