Activists of BJP's Kisan Morcha today staged a brief 'rail roko' by stopping New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express for a few minutes at local railway station here to press for their demands.

Activists demanded implementation of M S Swaminathan panel's recommendation on giving due share of profit from crop sale to farmers and Rs 10,000 per acre compensation during natural calamities among other demands.

The protesters, led by Morcha's leader Avtar Singh Mand, staged their demonstration on the rail track by squatting in front of the train.

Though Mand claimed that the train was stopped for 15-20 minutes, official sources said that the train stopped hardly for 3-4 minutes.
