Four BJP workers, including a state-level functionary and a woman councillor, were arrested today for their alleged involvement in the murder of a realtor from Tirupur at her house over a property dispute.
Police had earlier registered cases against six persons, including the councillor, Vatsala, her husband Vardaraj, functionary Elango, Kumar, Senthilkumar and Kanakaraj for beating to death a real estate businessman Arumugam in Tirupur, yesterday evening.
Elango, a State party executive member, was held early today during a vehicle check at Thudiyalur, police said.

Questioning revealed that Arumugam and Varadharaj had some dispute over property and that an altercation led to the murder. They said.
Varadharaj and Kumar were absconding, police added.
