A senior BJP leader has demanded that toll collection booths at Borkhedi near here and Mansar in Bhandara district be shut down alleging that they were being operated illegally.
"These toll booths are being run illegally as the concerned company has already collected double the amount of toll," MLC Shobhatai Fadnavis told reporters here today.
Fadnavis said she will lead an agitation against these two toll booths on January 20.
Fadnavis, a former Minister of Civil Supplies, questioned why the company has been authorised to collect the toll till year 2036.
"That way, the company will collect over Rs 10,000 crore," she said.
