A BJP leader in Punjab today accused Dalbir Kaur, said to be a sister of Sarabjeet Singh who was killed in a Pakistan jail two years ago, of fraudulently getting a government job for her own daughter instead of Sarabjit's daughter and demanded a CBI probe into the case.
Levelling the charge, M P Singh Goraya, a BJP leader and in charge of party's Backward cell in the state, demanded suspension of Dalbir's daughter Swapandeep Kaur from the job of revenue officer (naib tehsildar) and called for a CBI probe into the alleged fraud case.
Holding a press conference along with Sarabjit Singh's sister Baljinder Kaur and brother Harbhajan Singh, Goraya alleged, "Neither is Dalbir Sarabjit's sister nor Swapandeep her daughter. Punjab government had announced job for Sarabjit's daughter but Dalbir instead got it for her daughter and also usurped crores of financial aid given to his family."

Demanding Swapandeep's suspension from job, the BJP leader threatened of moving High Court in the matter.
Notably, after Sarabjit's death in a Pakistan jail in 2013, Punjab government had announced a job for his daughter following which Swapandeep Kaur got the job of a Naib Tehsildar.
Sarabjit's wife Sukhpreet Kaur and daughter Poonam Atwal were never let to come to the fore even as the financial aid which was supposed to be given to them was usurped by others, the BJP leader alleged.
Baljinder Kaur and Harbhajan Singh who accompanied Goraya during the press conference said their father Mahanga Singh fathered 10 children and claimed Dalbir was not their sibling.
Poonam is Sarabjit's only daughter, they claimed adding that Dalbir has falsely presented Swapandeep as Sarabjit's daughter and fraudulently got her the job.
When contacted, Dalbir Kaur and Swapandeep Kaur were unavailable for comments.
