Terror suspects 'Police' Fakruddin and Bilal Malik, arrested in connection with the murder of a BJP leader, were sent to 12-day judicial custody by a local court here today.

Police brought them from Vellore jail and produced before Judicial Magistrate Court Magistrate N Vijayalakshmi amid tight security.

The duo were arreseted in connection with the July 19 murder of BJP state general secretary V Ramesh.

The magistrate allowed the police application for the remand, rejecting the objections of the counsel for the accused that they have already been subjected to investigation and there was no need for fresh remand.

Outside the court, heated arguments were witnessed between police and mediapersons, who were not allowed inside.

'Police' Fakruddin, arrested on October 4, is among three key suspects held in the 2011 Advani pipe bomb case. The other two suspects are Panna Ismail and Malik.

Ismail and Malik were nabbed at Putur on the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border on October 5 in a joint operation by police forces of both states.
