BJP leader Tawade booked for derogatory remarks against Chavan

Acting on a complaint from Yavatmal District Congress Committee general secretary Devanand Pawar, the Yavatmal Police today said it has registered a case against Tawade under section IPC 500 (criminal defamation).

Pawar in his complaint has alleged that Tawade during his visit to the flood affected areas in Yavatmal on August 3 had criticised Chavan and made some offencive remarks.

Yavatmal Police Inspector Pralhad Giri today told PTI that he had received necessary paper clippings of Tawade's speech along with the copy of Pawar's complaint.
