Claiming that some senior leaders of BJP were unhappy with its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Congress today asked how could the country trust him (Modi) when its own leaders lack faith in him.
"Some senior leaders of BJP are unhappy with with Modi ... When BJP's own leaders did not have faith on him (Modi), how could the country trust him", Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said here.
"A video of BJP leader Uma Bharti has come out in which she is saying that Modi is not "Vikas Purush" but a "Vinash Purush" and accepted that there is atmosphere of terror in Gujarat. Though Bharti has termed it old, she has not denied what she had said", Singhvi said.

He said when leaders like Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Lalji Tondon, Kalraj Mishra and Uma Bharati did not trust Modi, it would be difficult for the country to believe in him.
Alleging that Modi was using comments of a lower court on SIT's cleanchit on Gujarat riots to mislead people, Singhvi said that the decision in High court and Supreme Court were pending on the matter.
Citing some data, Singhvi claimed that UPA regime was better than that of NDA.
Replying to a question, Singhvi said that Rahul Gandhi has said that after Lok Sabha elections if party was in position to form government and MPs select him as PM, he would not backtrack.
