BJP leaders today met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and demanded a probe into alleged irregularities during Aziz Qureshi's tenure as the former Uttarakhand Governor.
BJP spokesperson Anil Baluni said that many of the decisions taken and appointments made by Qureshi during his tenure as the Uttarakhand governor have raised questions. He said that a thorough probe was required to dispel any doubts as the post of the governor should be above suspicion.
"The high post of governor should be above any question and doubt and, therefore, in the interest of transparency, I urge the Union government to probe all the appointments made during Qureshi's tenure," he said.

"A thorough probe should be carried out into all decisions taken by Qureshi as the Uttarakhand governor," he added.
The BJP leader claimed that a number of alleged irregularities have come to light after the transfer of Qureshi to Mizoram and said all such allegations should be probed in the interest of justice and transparency.
He also handed over a list of the allegations to Singh and urged him to initiate a probe into those.
Qureshi was transferred from Uttarakhand to Mizoram as the north-eastern state's governor before he was eventually sacked last month.
