BJP leads on 9 seats in Chhhattisgarh

The ruling BJP is leading on nine out of total eleven Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh, where a see-saw battle is on in prominent Durg and Korba Lok Sabha constituencies.

Ajit Jogi, former chief minister and Congress nominee in Mahasamund seat, is holding his ground amid saffron storm against his rival BJP candidate and sitting MP Chandulal Sahu by 25,913 votes.

A neck-and-neck battle is on in Durg seat between BJP Mahila Morcha national president Saroj Pandey and Congress nominee Tamradhwaj Sahu. As per the latest trends, Sahu is leading by 11,320 votes against Pandey.

Similarly, BJP's Banshilal Mahto, who was leading earlier, is now trailing behind by a small margin of 711 votes in Korba seat against Congress veteran and Union Minister of State Charandas Mahant.
 

BJP's state unit chief Vishnudeo Sai is leading by a huge margin of 1,43,690 votes from Raigarh (ST) seat against Congress' Aarti Singh, while BJP nominee from Surguja (ST), Kamalbhan Singh Marawi is surging ahead by 57,098 votes against Congress' Ram Dev Ram.

BJP candidate from Bilaspur seat, Lakhanlal Sahu is also leading by 60,022 votes against Karuna Shukla (Cong).

Chief Minister Raman Singh's son and debutant Abhishek Singh is leading by 78,949 votes against Congress' Kamleshwar Verma.

Sitting BJP MP from Raipur seat and party veteran Ramesh Bais is leading by 30,721 votes against incumbent Congress MLA Satyanarayan Sharma, while MP from Bastar (ST), Dinesh Kashyap is leading by 71,818 votes against Congress candidate Deepak Karma.

BJP's sitting MP Kamla Devi Patle is leading by 47,948 votes against Congress' Prem Chand Jaisi from Janjgir-Champa seat (SC).

Former minister and sitting BJP MLA Vikram Usendi is ahead by 29,580 votes against Congress nominee Phulo Devi Netam from tribal reserved Kanker (ST).

In the 2009 general elections, BJP had won 10 out of 11 seats while Congress secured Korba constituency.
