Karnataka BJP legislators today pledged their one month's salary to Uttarakhand government for taking up relief works in the flood-ravaged areas of that state.
BJP Leader in the Assembly and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and Opposition Leader in the Legislative Council D V Sadananda Gowda, in a joint statement, alleged the Congress government in the state had failed to provide immediate succour to stranded pilgrims from Karnataka at Kedarnath and Badrinath.
"The government should wake up from the slumber and take appropriate steps for the return of stranded pilgrims", they said.
