The Karnataka High Court today granted interim anticipatory bail till April 18 to BJP MLA S R Vishwanath in connection with a private complaint filed before the Lokayukta court alleging illegal acquisition of government land through forged revenue documents.
Justice H N Nagamohan Das granted the relief to Vishwanath as it was yet to receive a copy of the Lokyukta court order rejecting the same earlier this month.
Bangalore Rural District Deputy Commissioner M K Ayappa and three other officials arrested in connection with the same complaint were granted bail by the Lokayukta court last month.
The court (Lokayukta) had confirmed Vishwanath's role in the complaint.
