A BJP MLA and a woman Delhi government employee have filed police complaints against each other after having an argument at Delhi Secretariat last week.

BJP MLA Ramesh Bidhuri also filed a privilege motion against the employee with Speaker Yoganand Shastri.

The incident reportedly took place on March 7 in the office of Department of Urban Development at Delhi Secretariat when the MLA went there to check development work in his constituency.

Bidhuri alleged that the woman employee did not cooperate and refused to listen to him. This resulted in an argument between the two.

The MLA said he filed a complaint with Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Urban Development Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely and the Speaker.

He also filed a complaint with police today, alleging misbehaviour by the woman employee, who also submitted a complaint against Bidhuri.

At a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party, a resolution was passed condemning the MLA's alleged misbehaviour.

"An FIR under Sections 509 (outraging the modesty of woman) and 189 (threat of injury to public servant) of IPC is being registered," Dikshit said after the meeting.

Bidhuri alleged that the woman employee was reluctant to file the police complaint but she was "severely pressurised" to do so.

"It is politically motivated and we will fight it out," he said.
