BJP MLA from Gadarpur Arvind Pandey was sent to 14 days' judicial custody today by a local court in a two-year-old case in which he is accused of creating ruckus at a sugar mill and clashing with a section of people.

Pandey surrendered before Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Chand Arya who sent him to 14 days' judicial custody in connection with the case in which the BJP MLA is accused of clashing with a group of people at a sugar mill in Udhamsingh Nagar district in November, 2011.

The Gadarpur MLA had ignored summons earlier issued by the court in the case following which a non-bailable warrant was issued against him recently, a police officer here said.

The BJP leader is booked under different sections of the SC/ST Act in the case, in which nine other co-accused have already got bail, the officer said.

Pandey told reporters outside the court that he had been framed by the ruling Congress in Uttarakhand.
