A BJP MLA's nephew was today allegedly assaulted by four policemen when he protested against them for refusing to pay for some products they bought from his dairy here.

Soon after, BJP workers gheraoed the local police station, and demanded strict action against the accused policemen.

BJP MLA Jagan Prasad Garg said four policemen came to the dairy run by his nephew Neeraj Garg this afternoon. They bought some stuff from the dairy and refused to pay.

When Neeraj protested, the policemen beat him up, he alleged. As shopkeepers gathered, the accused fled the spot.

Police officer Samir Sourav said the matter is being investigated. If the complaint is found to be right, the accused policemen would be punished, he said.
