The Speaker replied that 'Action has been taken against him and he had been suspended for rest of the session' amid the repeated urges of the BJP members who asked the speaker to reconsider his decision.
To restore order, the Speaker adjourned the house for ten minutes and called some BJP and Congress members to his Chamber.
An hour later, the house re-assembled, and the Speaker announced that Ravi had tendered 'unconditional apology' and urged the house to take the call on the suspension of Ravi.
Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh quickly said he had no problem with the MLA if he also bears the expenditure of the repair of the property damaged by him.
Later, Urban Development minister, Sudhir Sharma moved a motion to revoke the suspension of Ravinder Singh Ravi, which was adopted.
"Sometimes it happens in the heat of the moment. Otherwise, I have been elected to Vidhan Sabha five times and any such incident never happened in the past," Ravi said
Leader of opposition, Prem Kumar Dhumal said the Speaker should have called Ravi to explain his position as per rules and referred to an incident wherein the Congress members, while in opposition, had entered almost into a clash with the BJP members in the house, but the issue was sorted out.
However, the Speaker justified his decision, saying he had suspended Ravi under rule 75, which allows him to take action if it happens in front of his eyes.
