In an embarrassment for the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir, a BJP MLA today staged a walkout in the Assembly, saying he had not been provided a reply to his question listed in the day's business.

BJP MLA Sukhnandan, who was a minister in the Mufti Sayeed government, told Speaker Kavinder Gupta during Question Hour that he had not been provided a reply to his query about development of 'Gujjar bastis' in Marh block in Jammu region.

After consulting Assembly Secretary Mohammad Ramzan, the Speaker informed the MLA that he would get the written reply in due course.

As the allotted time for Question Hour ended, Sukhnandan again sought to know why the government has not provided a written reply.

The MLA then staged a walkout.

Meanwhile, MLA from Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin, a four-time member, walked out of the House, saying the Speaker had ignored him.

"You never allow me to speak. I am a senior member," Yasin said while staging the walkout.

The independent MLA wanted to raise a supplementary to a question about development of tourism sites in Jammu and Kashmir but was not allowed by Gupta.
