BJP MLAs to donate for Jammu and Kashmir flood victims

All the Delhi BJP MLAs and Municipal Councillors will donate their one month's salary and allowances to the Prime Minister's disaster relief fund for the help of Jammu and Kashmir flood victims.

The 27 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs have also decided to donate Rs 20 lakh each from their MLA development fund for relief and rescue operation in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir state.

"We have decided that all BJP MLAs and councillors will donate their their one month salary and allowances to the Prime Minister's disaster relief fund for the help of Jammu Kashmir flood victims," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said here today.
 

Upadhyay said that BJP has set up a special centre in the office premises for collecting relief material for the flood victims.

"BJP is receiving relief material from various Traders Organisations and RWAs. The party has decided that in view of the ensuing winter season, the party will send about 5,000 woollen sweaters for children next week itself," he added.

He also said that on September 14, a truck with 750 blankets, 200 tents, rice, pulses and other food items will be dispatched for Jammu from Pradesh Office.

Office superintendent of Delhi BJP, Sunder Singh said that the office staff are also contributing one day salary to the relief fund for the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier in the day, AAP decided that all its 27 MLAs will contribute Rs 20 lakh each for the Jammu and Kashmir flood relief from their MLA development fund.

AAP MLAs will collectively contribute Rs 5.40 crore in the Kashmir relief fund.
