A BJP member from Delhi today squarely blamed the Arvind Kejriwal government in Lok Sabha for not providing funds to the municipal corporations resulting in piling up of garbage in various parts of the national capital.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Mahesh Giri sought the Centre's intervention on the issue of delayed payments to the workers of municipal corporations here.
He said due to delayed salary payments, sanitation workers were staging protests and heaps of garbage were seen lying all around the roads, alleging that the state government was not feeling the pain of those workers.

"Today the situation is very painful. I have met those sanitation workers. They did not even celebrate the festival of Diwali. For last 6-7 months, they have not got any salary. When the state government was asked to allocate the funds to that municipal corporation, the Chief Minister asked us to go and ask to the Prime Minister. This is very bad," he said.
