BJP MP takes up steel plant issue with Centre

Former union minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya today met Union Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh and urged him to speed up the process of setting up an integrated steel plant in Telangana, an issue mentioned in the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act.

During the meeting, the Union Minister explained the initiatives taken by his Ministry to speed up the process of setting up steel plants at Bayyaram in Khammam district of Telangana and Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, Dattatreya said in a release here.

He said the Minister told him that the Telangana government was yet clarify on some queries raised by the ministry.

 

The queries included cost of land, distance from power source, power cost, water source cost, cost of rail connectivity to the proposed site and reimbursement of rate of fixed power cost for initial five years, the release added.
