A BJP MP today sought in-depth research on cow urine to examine whether it can be used as organic manure to boost agricultural productivity.
Participating in a debate in the Lok Sabha on Demand for Grants for the Agriculture Ministry, Sumedhanand Saraswati strongly urged the government to promote extensive use of organic manure by farmers to protect the soil quality from negative effects of chemical fertilisers.
In this context, the MP from Sikar constituency in Rajasthan said serious research should be carried out to find out whether cow urine could be used as organic manure and whether it could enhance the agricultural productivity.
