BJP MP Yogi Adityanath stopped from visiting Jhansi

BJP MP Yogi Adityanath was deboarded from Kushinagar Express here early today and not allowed to visit Jhansi by the police, apprehending violence during his visit.

Yogi Adityanath was on his way for the maha Jalabhishek ceremony of a Mahakalashwar temple in Jhansi where section 144 is in force, police said.

The local Jhansi administration has apprehended chances of violence during the BJP MP's visit, because of which he was prevented from proceeding further as a precautionary measure, circle officer of Babupoorva police station, DSP Pavitra Mohan Tripathi said.

He had come from Gorakhpur for the ceremony in Jhansi.

Police and administration officials were stationed at the Kanpur Central station since 12 am and the moment Kushinagar express reached here around 2:20 am, Adityanath was deboarded from the train.
 

Later, he along with his supporters were taken by the officials to a guest house of Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary in Unnao district about 60 km from here.

It is being further reported that Adityanath has left for Delhi, DSP added.

There is strong anger among the city BJP leaders against the police act.
