A day after the separatist leader Masarat Alam raised pro-Pakistan slogans at a rally organized by Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Srinagar where Pakistani flags were also waved, Shiv Sena, BJP's ally, today said it was the saffron party's duty to take action.
"BJP is a part of the government in Jammu and Kashmir and therefore it is BJP's responsibility to take action against Masarat Alam. We had raised the issue when Alam was released from the jail. Today we see pro-Pakistan slogans being raised by them," Sena MP Sanjay Raut told reporters here.
After a gap of five years, Jammu and Kashmir government yesterday allowed Geelani to hold a rally.
Alam, who was released after PDP-BJP government came to power in the state, led the march from the Srinagar Airport to Geelani's residence at Hyderpora.
