BJP national council meet to ratify Amit Shah as party chief

Top BJP leaders from across the country will converge here tomorrow for a day-long meeting of the party's national council to ratify the appointment of party President Amit Shah.

The session, to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, will start with Shah's ratification as new party chief and conclude with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address.

The national council will also adopt a political resolution that will focus on the political and economic issues as well as the initiatives taken by the BJP-led NDA government and its roadmap ahead.

This is the first meeting of the party's national council after BJP's victory in the Lok Sabha polls.
 

"This is the first national council meeting after the party's grand success in the Lok Sabha elections. The meeting will adopt a resolution that will include political and economic issues as also achievements of the new government and its roadmap ahead," BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters.

The resolution will include various decisions taken by the BJP-led government and the steps to be taken by it in the time to come.

He said all top BJP central leaders and over 2,000 party leaders from across the county will participate, besides chief ministers and ministers in BJP-ruled states and opposition leaders or CLP leaders in states where BJP is not in power.

BJP national executive members as also presidents of the party's state units and BJP general secretaries and heads of various morchas and fronts in states and at the central level will also participate in the national counci session.

Party patriarch L K Advani will also address. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and other leaders of the party will also take part in the deliberations.
