Senior CPI leader D Raja today wondered why the AIADMK and the DMK were not attacking the "communal policy" of BJP and instead only criticising Narendra Modi on the Gujarat model of development.

"The Dravidian parties only talk about Modi's politics and not about communalism," he told reporters here referring to DMK and AIADMK's attack on Gujarat model of development during electioneering for Lok Sabha polls.

Stating that BJP and Congress were following the same economic policies, he cautioned people not to rely on "Modi magic".

Congress should be dethroned at the national level for its anti-people economic policies, but BJP, which was following the same economic policies was not the alternative, he maintained.

He described the talk about popularity of BJP in Tamil Nadu as a "fanciful imagination".

It was comic that BJP was talking about various issues like a separate welfare board for fishermen. "We have already asked for a Ministry for fisheries department," he said.

On the Sri Lankan Tamils' issue too, both the BJP and the Congress were following the same principles and policies, he said, adding, "the Left wants to bring an alternative policy and politics".
