Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party chairman Harsh Dev Singh hit out at the BJP today, accusing the saffron party of failing to ensure the rights of the people of Jammu.

Addressing reporters at a rally here, the JKNPP chairman lamented that the state BJP ministers and MLAs did not speak up for the people of the region, despite getting an overwhelming mandate from Jammu.

"The BJP has surrendered before the Kashmiri leadership for the lust of power," Singh said at the rally.

He urged the people to support and strengthen their Jammu-based party, which had been persistently fighting for the cause of the region.

"The BJP has indulged in double standards and duplicity over the issues of Article 35A, abolition of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis from Jammu," the JKNPP chairman added.

The former minister appealed to all sections of civil society for a united and concerted fight against the alleged "socio-political discrimination" doled out to the region.
