Putting the BJP on the mat over infighting within the party and among the NDA constituents, RJD president Lalu Prasad today said the party is "on fire" and nobody has an inkling as to what will happen next.

"The BJP is on fire. Nobody has any idea of what earthquake will come or which volcano will erupt. Nobody knows what will happen next," Prasad told reporters here.

Attacking the BJP for not declaring its CM candidate, Prasad alleged it was not doing so with an intention to cheat different castes by telling that the CM would be from among them, and also out of fear that the infighting within the party would come out in the open.

"Their senior most leader L K Advani said emergency may return to the country. When other leaders fell on his feet, then he said there is an one man rule in the country. You can very well understand to whom he was pointing," he said.

The RJD chief was talking to reporters after holding a day long pre-poll meeting with party workers and leaders from Darbhanga division comprising of Darbhanga, Madhubani and Samastipur districts to chalk out election strategy.

Stoking fire among BJP allies who have started showing dissent on the issue of chief ministerial candidate and number of seats to be contested by them, Prasad showed his support for Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) president and Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha, whose party was demanding he should be the CM nominee from the NDA.

"Kushwaha has qualities to become a Chief Minister. He is mature, hardworking and wants the top job in the state. There is nothing wrong in his staking claim on the CM post," Prasad said.
