The BJP state unit today orgnaised "Gomata Utsav" in Kolkata to counter the beef festival in the city few days back.
However, the resounding defeat in the Bihar polls seems to have taken away the shine from the much touted "Gomata Utsav" in the state.
Subrata Gupta, state convenor of the BJP's Cow Development Cell, said, "We are organising this festival to raise awareness about the need for cow slaughter ban in the state."
According to BJP leaders, the event was turned down into a low key affair with only a handful of activists having gathered in front of Yogayog Bhavan and offering cow milk to the people gathered there.
