BJP organises 'run against drugs' across Punjab

Union minister Vijay Sampla, also Punjab unit BJP chief, took part in a marathon race oganised by the party's youth wing across the state to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and illicit trafficking.

People from all walks of life pledged to fight the menace at the "run against drugs" programme.

Sampla led the run in Mukerian, a party release said, adding the event drew huge support from people across the state, especially from youth who came out in large numbers.

The run was organised at Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Bathinda, Patiala, Mukatsar, Barnala, Faridkot, Kapurthala, Nawanshahar, Nabha, Ajnala, Malerkotla, Fazilka, Mohali, Jagraon, Khanna, Rajpura, Tarn Taran, Ropar, village Hamirgarh in District Sangrur, Batala and Mukerian.
