Addressing the inaugural session, Vijender Gupta, Delhi President of BJP, informed councillors of the legal provisions related to the civic body.
The elected members can do great social service through the Corporation because every citizen has some work related to it, a statement, quoting Gupta, said.
"Every citizen expects much from the area councillor for the civic amenities provided by the Corporation. The councillor who fulfils the expectations of the people advances in the field of politics in future," Gupta said.
Besides Gupta, Alok Kumar and Rameshwar Chaurasiya, BJP state co-Incharge, also gave information to councillors about "local self Government and local body", the statement said. PTI
