"BJP will take a call on Prime Ministership and putting up a candidate at an appropriate time. And the appropriate body is the Central Parliamentary Board," he told reporters here.
He recalled JD-U leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had "made it clear that he had not given any such interview to any local daily", referring to Kumar's denial of a statement where he was quoted as having said that BJP should declare its Prime Ministerial candidate ahead of the polls.
JD-U, a key NDA constituent, also termed as "unnecessary" the debate over who would be the coalition's prime ministerial candidate and sought a halt to the mad rush of leaders pitching for candidates of their choice.
