Deploring the defections allegedly carried out by BJP in Jharkhand, Congress today accused it of practising 'Aya Ram-Gaya Ram" politics unmindful of its rejection in Delhi assembly polls.

"BJP's sinister politics of defections and Ayaram-Gaya Ram in Jharkhand to gain unlawful majority proves its complete loss of moral fibre and commitment to principled politics."

"BJP does not seem to learn the lesson from Delhi's resounding rejection of politics of negativism", party spokesman Randeep Surjewala said.

His remarks came close on the heels of six MLAs of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) joining BJP in Jharkhand that gave the saffron party majority on its own in the assembly.

BJP with its 37 MLAs is short of a comfortable majority and formed the government with the help of Ajsu Party with five MLAs. The six new MLAs will take BJP's strength to 43 in the 81-member assembly, giving it a comfortable majority of 48 MLAs.
