BJP President Amit Shah to visit Kanpur on July 11

Shah will hold a meeting with senior leaders and MLAs to discuss the 2017 assembly elections in the state on the sidelines of 'Mahasampark Abhiyan'

BJP national president Amit Shah will visit the city on July 11 to hold a meeting with senior leaders and MLAs to discuss the 2017 assembly elections in the state on the sidelines of 'Mahasampark Abhiyan'.

About 510 BJP leaders are expected to arrive here for the meeting which aims to analyse the campaign and focus on party's strategy for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh polls.

Shah will hold the briefing around 10 a.m which is expected to conclude around 6 p.m, party sources said.

He will be taken to all seven constituencies here and special arrangements are made to welcome him, BJP Kanpur unit president Surendra Maithani said today.
 

The arrangements include construction of 13 gates named after stalwarts of the country, showering flowers on his convoy and a cavalcade of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha will move on motor-bikes in formations ahead of Shah's vehicle till the venue, Maithani said.

Maithani also said the state BJP President, Laxmikant Bajpai, is personally looking into the arrangements and will be here soon.

Posters and hoardings have already been put up in the city and the event will take place at a hotel on the outskirts of Kanpur, he said.
