Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP has promised fifty percent reduction in electricity bill to every household if voted to power.

The party has put up hoardings, carrying photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, at various places across the national capital promising to slash power bills by 50 per cent by providing LED bulbs at cheap rates.

In the last Assembly elections, BJP had promised to slash electricity tariff by 30 per cent.

Sources in the party said reduction in electricity bill was one of the main promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party in the last elections following which it had formed government.

This time, the BJP does not want to give any reason for AAP to outdo the party in the Delhi polls, the sources said.
