Union Minister Babul Supriyo today staged a protest, along with Delhi BJP leaders and workers, at the Trinamool Congress (TMC) office here against the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal.

The Delhi unit of the BJP has organised a weeklong protest at TMC office here, in protest against "violence" against party workers in West Bengal.

"Sacrifice of Trilochan Mahato...will not go in vein and soon we will be able to liberate Bengal from the misgovernance of Mamata Banerjee," Supriyo, the BJP MP from Asansol, said in a statement.

Mahato was killed in Purulia in West Bengal after the panchayat election last month.

BJP's national secretary Tarun Chugh accused the Mamata Banerjee government of targeting Dalits who supported the BJP in her state.

West Delhi MP Parvesh Verma and Delhi BJP general secretary Ravinder Gupta, along with many other leaders and workers, participated in the demonstration.
