BJP workers today protested against the release of Karan Johar's blockbuster "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" (ADHM) in front of a cinema hall here.

The protesters, who were carrying the tri-colour, burnt the effigy of Karan Johar, the producer and director of the film and blackened his poster in front of the theatre near Gandhi Maidan.

They raised slogans against Johar for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the film released today across the country.

"We are protesting against the film because it features

a Pakistani actor. We cannot allow Pakistani artistes to work in India when our people especially soldiers are being targeted by Pakistani army and terrorists harboured by them," said Rakesh Gupta Patna University BJP Mandal (block) leader.

The protest was peaceful, police said.

The film ran into trouble after Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had earlier threatened that it won't allow release of any movie that featured Pakistani artistes before a settlement was reached.
